Eat Safely In Florida is published by Tanooki Studios LLC, a Florida limited liability company. Using the site means these terms apply to you.

Inspection records, violation counts, dispositions, disciplinary actions and the inspectors' own written findings come from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and are reproduced without alteration.

Florida does not issue letter grades to restaurants. Every grade, score and badge on this site is ours: our summary of the state's records, computed the same way for every establishment, with the entire formula published. They are our opinion, openly reasoned from facts we show you. They are not a state rating, not a certification, and not a health or safety guarantee.

Do not present our grades as Florida's. Doing so misrepresents both us and the state, and it is the one use of this material we will object to.

No restaurant can pay to be removed from this site, to have a grade changed, to be excluded from a ranking, or to be included in one. We accept no advertising, no sponsorship, no hospitality and no payment of any kind from any establishment listed. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are not telling the truth, and we would like to hear about it.

We take accuracy seriously and we check our work, but this site is provided as-is. Records can only ever be as current as the state's most recent published extract, typically pulled nightly. An establishment may have been inspected, cleared, closed, reopened or sold since the last one.

A record here describes a licence at a point in time, not necessarily today's business. Ownership and management change; the licence and its history often do not. Where we can tell that a licence is no longer on the state's active list we mark it, but we cannot always tell.

Nothing here is advice about where to eat. Use it as one input, alongside your own eyes.

Tell us and we will fix it. Email corrections@eatsafelyinflorida.com with the establishment, the page, and what is wrong. We would much rather correct something quickly than argue about it.

If our page does not match the state's own record, that is our error and we will correct it promptly. If the state's record is itself wrong, that correction has to be made with DBPR — we publish what they publish, and we will reflect their correction on the next nightly pull.

We will not remove an accurate record of a public inspection on request. That is the entire purpose of the site.

The state's records are public. Our grades, scores, badges and written text are licensed CC BY 4.0 — take them, build on them, use them commercially, credit Eat Safely In Florida. The full dataset is downloadable with no key and no signup.

Don't hammer the site with automated requests when the same data is sitting there as a file. Don't use it to harass anybody.

To the fullest extent Florida law allows, Tanooki Studios LLC is not liable for losses arising from use of this site or reliance on anything published here. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with the date they took effect.
