Employee touched soiled apron/clothes and then engaged in food preparation, handled clean equipment or utensils, or touched unwrapped single-service items without washing hands. Employee at cookline touched his hat with gloved hands, then flipped tortillas on the grill with the same gloved hand. Inspector had the emoloyee wash hands and put on new gloves during this inspection.
Food service manager not certified within 30 days of employment. A list of accredited food manager certification examination providers can be found at http://www.myfloridalicense.com/DBPR/hotels-restaurants/food-lodging/food-manager/ The manager on duty, Alberto Portillo, has no proof of food manager certification. This is the same employee who was listed as the manager on duty during the last inspection conducted on 08/14/2025.
Handwash sink removed from food preparation/dishwashing area. Must be reinstalled in the same location where removed. Handwash sink in bar area removed from designated location indicated on the approved floor plan. The bar does have one other handwash sink in the bar that is not indicated on the floor plan and completely nonfunctional.
No currently certified food service manager on duty with four or more employees engaged in food preparation/handling. Storage of maintenance equipment/tools in areas that may result in cross contamination of food, equipment, utensils, linens and/or single-service and single-use articles. Leaf blower stored on top of box containing canned food in dry storage room. Manager removed the leaf blower from the area during this inspection.
Unwashed fruits/vegetables stored with ready-to-eat food. Cut avocado stored in same pan with unwashed avocados with stickers still attached in top of refrigerated make-table at cookline.
Wall not smooth, nonabsorbent and easily cleanable in food preparation, food storage, warewashing areas or bathroom. Portion of wall constructed from unsealed wood in kitchen near cookline.
