Florida inspects its restaurants constantly and writes down exactly what it finds. All of it is public, and almost none of it is readable. This site republishes the state's own records in plain English — free, with no advertising and no tracking. Everything below is yours to use.
Inspection records begin July 2023, which is as far back as the state's downloadable files reach. Everything is refreshed from DBPR every night.
Your county's numbers
Every county has its own fact sheet: how many kitchens, how they grade, what was ordered shut this year, what was fined, and the most recent thing an inspector wrote down. Rebuilt nightly.

The full dataset is downloadable as CSV and JSON with no key, no signup and no rate limit, free for commercial use — including for your own reporting. The state's records are public domain; our grades and badges are CC BY 4.0, so credit Eat Safely In Florida if you use those.

Built and run by one person. Maddie is an autistic software developer who works alone and builds free public tools; she started with Osceola County, where she lives, before opening the site to the rest of the state. It is not funded, not sponsored and not for sale, and no restaurant can pay to be removed from it, to have a grade changed, or to be kept out of a ranking.

Please don't call these official state grades. Florida does not issue letter grades to restaurants — it records what an inspector found and how the visit ended, and that is all. Every grade, score and badge on this site is ours, computed the same way for every kitchen in the state from the state's public records. The whole formula is published at how we grade. Inspection findings, closures and disciplinary records are unedited public records from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
